What is (walking) coaching?

Have you resolved to do things differently and make different choices, but keep running into the same things? Are you momentarily out of touch with certain themes in your life and seem to be spiraling? I am happy to guide you to find and take life back into your own hands.

A choice is creative but when we get stuck we find choosing difficult. We then think, “I don’t know what to choose, so I’ll just choose nothing at all. Not choosing is also a choice, of course, but usually that leaves you stuck in a spiral.
During a coaching session, we will explore what it is that might be blocking your choices, what you are up against and what is holding you back and ultimately, what do you want to achieve and create for yourself?

These sessions can be combined with a (shortened) Access Bars treatment or a body process. It can generate more space which helps positivity to flow again, ultimately identifying a path to recovery. In this way, more space can be created and everything can start flowing again the way you want it to.

Why outside?

I can imagine that sometimes it is actually nice not to be inside to talk. That's why I also offer an outdoor consultation to see what may arise during the walk. Moreover, an outdoor environment can put a different perspective on your thought process.

Being in motion turns on other parts of the brain, which also allows you to come to other ideas and insights. Nature creates relaxation in your brain and stress automatically decreases, as the stress hormone cortisol decreases. In addition, you may find that serotonin and endorphins increase with exercise; these substances in your brain make you feel good. So eventually not only your body gets moving, but also your thoughts and feelings. Some senses are diminished but also some are enlightened by an external environment.

Another benefit (i.e., if you’re not sitting across from each other, but walking) is that it can help you talk more freely. You don’t necessarily have to look at each other and you can let your thoughts flow more easily.

By going outside and being in a different environment, you can also distance yourself more from your own situation. A changing environment can help one gain new insights and also better retain them.
